For decades, Digitalfire has grown alongside the ceramic industry — shaped by the needs of labs, studios, educators, and technicians like you. What began as a technical reference and glaze chemistry has matured into a proven data-centric foundation now deeply integrated into the workflows of many organizations.

The technology landscape has evolved dramatically in recent years. Modern development tools now make it possible to significantly improve performance, scalability, and security in ways that were not previously practical.

Over the next several years, I will be modernizing the underlying architecture of Insight-live and Digitalfire — strengthening performance, enhancing long-term security, and preparing the system for sustainability well beyond any one individual.

Your data remains secure. The database structure itself is robust and well proven. The improvements will focus on the code and infrastructure that support it — work that will increasingly reveal itself as visible speed, reliability, and usability improvements.

One of the initiatives underway is improved data portability — including the ability to export your account into a local application that can function as a synchronized companion to your online account. This adds resilience and flexibility while preserving the integrity of your primary system.

This next chapter will involve collaboration, additional development resources, and broader strategic planning. I wanted to share the direction early and transparently.

There is no disruption planned — only progress.

If you have an interest in participating in advisory discussions, partnership conversations, or simply sharing thoughts, I welcome that input. I remain deeply motivated by the support and encouragement many of you have shared over the years. It is inspiring to see how many people are driven by the joy and science of ceramics.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
